NTSSB Inspector(s)
A person or person selected by the NTSSB to inspect the event and ensure that the procedures are followed.
NTSSB Inspector(s) are hired under contract by the NTSSB to make a report following the event.

NTSSB Inspector(s) and the Chief NTSSB Inspector
Rules and Regulations
The NTSSB inspector will receive a preliminary event report 10 days prior to the event.
The Chief NTSSB Inspector must provide a time for a minimum of 1.5 hours either by email, phone or in person within 5-7 days prior to the event to go over any course changes or items which may have been omitted on the original NTSSB application.
The Chief NTSSB Inspector may forgo the meeting as long as both the Chief NTSSB Inspector and the event manager have agreed that the meeting is redundant.
The Chief NTSB Inspector may elect to have a regular NTSSB Inspector meet with the event manager.
NTSSB Inspector Requirements
Event(s) that have more than 500 individual participants on any one day require that there be at least on Chief NTSSB Inspector present and one NTSSB Inspector present.
Event(s) 499 participants or less must have at least one NTSSB Inspector present.
NTSSB Inspector Pay
Traveling to event by car
NTSSB Inspectors are paid $100/day and 20 cents per mile traveled over 30 miles.
Chief NTSSB Inspectors are paid $150/day and 20 cents per mile traveled over 30 miles.
Traveling to event by other means.
NTSSB Inspectors are paid $100/day and $50/day for traveling with $40 per day for food. Lodging and all transportation costs are covered by the event organizer.
Events without an NTSSB Inspector
Events may elect to appoint a Temporay NTSSB Inspector however the Temporary NTSSB Inspector must be certified by NTSSB a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.
